CHILDCARE EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING SUPPORT SCHEME (CETS)

Free Childcare

Learners on our courses are entitled to free Childcare places through the Childcare Employment and Training Support (CETS) Scheme.  Places can be full or part time, afterschool only or afterschool with pick up places, which are provided by local Childcare Providers.

What is the CETS scheme?

This is a childcare support scheme which provides subsidised childcare places to qualifying parents who are attending certain Kilkenny and Carlow ETB programmes.

This scheme is provided by the Office of the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs. Please be advised that there is a limit to the number of places available and Kilkenny and Carlow ETB cannot guarantee a place. Childcare places will be offered on a first come first served basis.

How do I access a place?

You should contact: Kilkenny County Childcare Committee on 056 7752865 and Carlow County Childcare Committee on 059 9140244 . They will be able to give you a list of participating services.

ESF Fund For students with disabilities

The fund provides grants towards the provision of services and the purchase of equipment for Post Leaving Certificate (PLC) students with disabilities, for example, personal assistant, sign language interpreter, dyslexia support, note-taker, transport, additional tuition, assistive technology.

Students with disabilities/learning difficulties are advised to disclose their disability/learning difficulty on their PLC application and at the time that they register on a Kilkenny ETB PLC course. The PLC College will contact students who disclose they need support. Then the college will apply to the ESF Fund for Students with Disabilities if appropriate.
